Late Night with Catholic Charities
The Grand Ballroom at Bartle Hall was in a "New York state -of-mind" on Saturday, November 1st as 450 guests at the 10th Annual Savor the Flavors enjoying the ambience of New York right in the heart of Kansas City. Guests were treated to appetizers served from "street vendors", martinis poured through an icy luge and entertainment by "Sr. Mary David", played exceptionally well by local actress, Cathy Burnett.
While celebrating the tenth anniversary of Savor the Flavors, Catholic Charities honored Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dunn, Sr. for their dedication to the work of Catholic Charities, especially the TurnAround program. TurnAround owes it growth as the preeminent re-entry program in Northwest Missouri directly to the generosity of the Dunn Family. Their generous support has allowed hundreds of men and women to re-establish their lives upon release from prison.
In addition to the wonderful dinner and a live auction-which included several coveted vacation spots-supporters enjoyed Late Night with Catholic Charities. Hosted by "Sister Mary David" instead of her more famous counterpart from New York, the show capped an evening of fun and raised more than $75,000 to support the works of Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St.Joseph.
