Honorees and distinguished benefactors of the Truman Heartland Community Foundation enjoyed a delightful evening at the home of Mike and Jan McGraw.  Catered by Lon Lane's Inspired Occasions, the reception was held around the pool and guest house on the estate.  Area mayors from Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Independence, Lake Winnebago, Lee's Summit, Oak Grove, Raytown and Sugar Creek introduced their "Outstanding Citizens of the Year" and spoke of the service to their communities.

The event preceded the annual "Toast to our Towns" Gala held on September 26th.  Other honorees recognized included the Corporate Citizen of the Year, Mike McGraw of Data Systems International as well as the co-Humanitarian of the Year, Jim Kidwell and Dave Jeter.
