Statement of Purpose: The Sunflowers to Roses organization is the result of a group of professional peers and friends who wanted to honor the memory of cancer survivors like Jack Lockton, Chris Anthony and others like them who lost their battle with brain cancer, but made a difference here in Kansas City.Chris was a 37 year-old husband and father of two who was inspired by Lance Armstrong's triumph over cancer and his subsequent Tour de France victories. Jack Lockton was a father of three and started Lockton Companies that now employs close to 2000 people.Our Mission To raise money and awareness of cancer survivorship programs in the Kansas City area, and to promote cycling as a safe, recreational family activitiy. Strategies Increase awareness of Sunflowers to Roses, through targeted marketing, special events, and awareness campaigns like our charitable program, the Bike for Life Children's Camp. We develop activities that encourage participation across multiple age and socio-economic groups and reinforce core values of family, fun and fitness. Sunflowers to Roses (S2R) ensures that a designated percentage of money raised is earmarked for use for cancer survivorship programs in the Kansas City area. Sunflowers to Roses Organization, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization, IRS Tax ID 52-2416416. All donations to the Organization are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.
